The truth belongs to everyone. Help us find it.

Bellingcat is a global collective uncovering facts to hold power to account. We share everything, including our methods, because democracy depends on people who won’t take the truth at face value.

Every membership directly supports our investigations and global community work.

What your membership makes possible:

  • We publish evidence rigorous enough to hold up in court, alongside exactly how we found it.
  • We build tools that belong to everyone.
  • We train thousands in open-source investigation every year.
  • We maintain open community spaces for anyone to learn, contribute, and collaborate.

We prove it. We show it. We teach it.

Bellingcat pays close attention to data and privacy rights of our supporters. You can find our policy here.

Bellingcat US is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and contributions are tax-deductible for income, gift, and estate taxes. Our EIN is 92-0346579.

We pay close attention to data and privacy rights of our supporters. You can find our policy here.

Bellingcat promises to empower anyone with the ability to verify the truth through open source research.

We do this by always publishing findings with methodology, maintaining spaces for collaborating, training, and learning in the community, and sharing our tools openly.

We publish evidence rigorous enough to hold up in court, alongside exactly how we found it.  We build tools that belong to everyone. We never use anonymous sources, and we never accept funding that could compromise our independence. We train thousands in open-source investigation and maintain open community spaces for anyone to learn, contribute, and collaborate, and we listen.

Bellingcat is the only investigative organization where the collective builds society’s capacity to find the truth.
